What a Facebook ad looks like in the feed

A feed ad has five parts, top to bottom. The Page name and a Sponsored label sit at the top. The primary text comes next, and on a phone it is cut after about 125 characters with a See more link. Then the picture or video, shown square or 4:5 tall. Under it is the link bar with your website, the headline, a short description and the button.

The mockup draws all five with your own words, so you can see where the text breaks, whether the headline fits on one line and how the button reads next to it.

Why preview an ad before you publish it

Most ad mistakes are only visible in place: a hook that falls after See more, a headline cut in half, a picture that loses the product when the feed crops it to 4:5, or a button that does not match the offer.

A mockup also gets you a quick yes from a founder or a client who has no access to your ad account. Send the PNG on WhatsApp or Slack and fix the words before money is spent.

Tips for Facebook ads that get read

Small changes in the first two seconds of a scroll decide whether the rest of the ad is seen at all.

  • Put the hook in the first line of primary text, before the See more cut.
  • Use a 4:5 picture (1080 x 1350) in the feed. It takes more of the screen than a square.
  • Keep the headline short enough to fit on one line, around 40 characters.
  • Match the button to the offer: Shop now for a product page, Learn more for content, Sign up for a form.
  • For Stories and Reels, keep text away from the top and bottom, where the app puts its own buttons.

Questions people ask

Is this Facebook ad mockup generator free?

Yes. Make as many mockups as you like and download each one as a PNG, with no sign up and no watermark.

Does the mockup look exactly like Facebook?

It follows the current Facebook layout closely: the header, the text cut, the picture crop, the link bar and the buttons. Facebook changes small details often and phones differ, so use the Ads Manager preview for the final check.

Can I make a mockup of a video ad?

Yes. Add an MP4 and the mockup shows its first frame in the feed, Stories or Reels. The download is a still PNG, which is what most teams need for approvals and decks.

What image size is best for Facebook feed ads?

A 4:5 picture at 1080 x 1350 px fills the most screen on a phone, and a 1080 x 1080 square works everywhere. Taller pictures are cropped to 4:5 in the feed. Use the ad image resizer to make every size from one file.

How long can the text on a Facebook ad be?

There is room for much more, but the feed shows about 125 characters of primary text before See more, and the headline is cut after about 40 characters. The counters next to each field show where you are.

Are my pictures uploaded anywhere?

No. Your picture, video and logo are opened by your browser and drawn there. Nothing is sent to AdGraam.

Is this tool made by Meta or Facebook?

No. AdGraam is not part of Meta and this tool is not made by Meta. It follows how Facebook and Instagram show ads today, but the apps change, so check the final ad in the Ads Manager preview before it goes live.
